The SAICE Western Cape AGM was held on Wednesday 18th November 2020 over MS Teams. It was well attended with 30+ members, however, not enough to constitute a quorum.
The current chairman, Byron Mawer, gave a brief overview of the branch activities during what has been an extraordinarily, difficult year. He highlighted the success of the first virtual Aqualibrium competition, the Work from Home Survey, and noted that a number of virtual branch meetings had been held throughout the year.

The chairperson also highlighted the changes to the branch committee for 2021:
Resigned:
Catherine Blersch (Vice-Chairperson), Brian Holdridge, Dakalo Nekhavhambe and Eddie Chinnappen.
0 New Nominations had been received.

The Branch Executive Committee for 2021 is:
Chairperson:
Byron Mawer
New Vice Chair:
Geoff Du Toit
Treasurer:
Saaligha Gool

The Student Chapter and Treasurer Reports were also presented. It should be noted that the Treasurer has not drawn up a budget for 2021, as it is uncertain when normal branch activities will be resumed. As soon as there is clarity as to when activities will resume, the Treasurer will draw up a budget and present it to the branch.
It would seem however, that for the first quarter at least, of 2021, Branch Activities will take place remotely.
Following the AGM, the chairperson held a short member engagement session, as a means of gathering important feedback from branch members. Questions included:
- Preferences towards virtual or in-person branch meetings in 2021
- Preferred activities for SAICE WC to focus on in 2021
